July 14th, 2024 - Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The ordained can help equip the laity spiritually by preaching the word of God and celebrating the sacraments and offering good pastoral care, but the lay faithful are commissioned by Christ to fill the world and all its parts with the spirit of the gospel. Christ wants the ordained and the laity to be partners, co-workers in his vineyard. We are sent out together (each according to his or her own vocation) to show the world that the kingdom of Christ is at hand. And so we are all on a mission.  It is for all of us, by virtue of our baptism.
