January 28th, 2024 - Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Demons are not relics of the past. They are the devils that harass all of us -- trying steer us in the wrong direction, tempting us and fooling us into thinking their way is better, easier, sweeter than God’s way. And these demons are everywhere, spreading misery throughout our culture. Demons can invade our souls, infiltrate our hearts, and even hack our minds. From time to time, we really have to stop and ask the question: what has gotten into us?  Christ has power and dominion over all things, including demons and evil spirits. The only power that makes demons go away and flee is the power of Christ’s love – so we have to stay as close to Christ as we can get. When we wander away from Christ, the demons can take over and lead us in the wrong direction. And friends, we can’t get any closer to Christ than receiving him in the Bread of Life at Mass.
