Justice for Jesus Backpack Drive for Foster Children

June 1, 2024 - June 23, 2024Location: Both St. Maria Goretti and Our Lady of the Assumption ChurchesChildren placed in emergency foster care are often removed from their homes or picked up after school without warning and with only the clothes on their backs. Through this initiative, we provide backpacks filled with the basic necessities to help these children get through the next day or two, and offer them something tangible and comforting during such a difficult time. We ask that you donate a new backpack filled with all new-with-tags items and labeled with the gender, size, and season of clothing on a note tied to the handle. Refer to our parish's May 26th bulletin for details on filler items. This is a great project for families, book clubs, scout troops, Faith Formation classes, and prayer/Rosary groups.
