“Who is my neighbor?” This is a question for the ages… a question for our consciences to ponder every day. My friends, love of God and love of neighbor are like two sides of the same coin. Love of God expresses itself best in our love of neighbor. We probably know some Good Samaritans in our lives -- those people who are always there for folks in need, men and women who so readily give the shirts off their backs, disciples of Jesus who bind other’s wounds and care for those who are in pain. These Good Samaritans give us inspiration and hope. The Son of God himself is the greatest of all Good Samaritans. When he noticed that we were robbed of our dignity due to sin, he did not simply pass us by. He bent down from heaven and taking the human flesh of Jesus, he rescued us from the power of evil, and brought us safely home to the Inn of his Father.
